The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) is headed by a Director, reporting to Vice Chancellor NCA, Lahore. The Quality Enhancement Cell has been established at NCA Lahore, November 2010. It is entrusted with the task to promote education for effective management of standard of and quality of programmes at all levels. It requires developing quality assurance processes and methods of evaluations that the quality of provision and standards of NCA education are well maintained and being improved. It includes curriculum development, subject and staff development together with research and other activities. Further, the academic activities of the NCA will be monitored by quality assurance agency (QAA), HEC through QEC.

1. Participation in the International Conference on Quality Assurance: 

Mr. Muhammad Waseem (Director QEC), Dr. Naveed Ahmed (Dy. Director QEC) and M. Ahsan ul Haq (data analyst) participated in PNQAHE 4th international conference during March 3-5, 2024 at Jinnah Convention Center Islamabad, Pakistan. The theme of the conference was “Future –Proofing Quality Assurance in Higher Education”.

2. Training Session on Plagiarism and Turnitin Software:

Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) has organized an interactive training session titled “plagiarism awareness and the usage of Turnitin software” on April 17, 2024 at NCA, Lahore. The session was led by Mr. Ahsan ul Haq, data analyst, quality enhancement cell. The faculty members and the students of all the graduate degree programs were actively participated in the session.     

3. Training Session on Self-Assessment Report (SAR):

Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) has organized an interactive training session titled “Evaluation of Self-Assessment Report” on February 27, 2024 at NCA, Lahore. The session was led by Mr. Ali Raza Qureshi, Director QEC, Lahore Garrison University, Lahore. The nominated program team (PT) members of all the departments were participated in the session. 

4. RIPE Workshop organised by NCA to Strengthen Quality Practices in Higher Education:

The Quality Enhancement Cell at the National College of Arts organised a one day workshop on “Review of Institutional Performance and Enhancement (RIPE)” and its Judgmental Framework on 30th October 2025. Participants from various institutions across the country attended the session to explore the key components of RIPE and understand how these dimensions contribute to achieving and sustaining quality in higher education.

The discussions and interactive activities underscored that quality is not a one time accomplishment but a continuous process driven by commitment, collaboration, and innovation.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri, highlighted the importance of implementing quality assurance tools across all higher education institutions. He also presented certificates to the participants and a shield to the resource person, Mr. Yousaf Jameel, Director, Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University, Islamabad.

Progress Review Meeting and Consultative Workshops of HEC:

Mr. Muhammad Waseem, Director QEC participated in the three days HEC’s progress review meeting & Consultative Workshops from April 24-26, 2024, at Forman Christian College University, Lahore, This event aimed to discuss the effective implementation of revised Quality Assurance standards and criteria.
